Visakha Bucha Day 05/19/2016

Visakha Bucha Day is the most sacred day celebrated by Buddhists in Thailand. The day celebrates the birth, enlightenment, and death of Gautama Buddha.

Here in rural Thailand Visakha Bucha Day is celebrated with an evening chanting service and a candle procession around the ordination hall at the local temple. The congregation circles the hall 3 times while chanting prayers and then light candles before a statue of the Buddha.
